In lingerie, a shelf bra has the frame of a bra with revealing open cups that expose much or all of the nipples. They typically have a bra band that wraps around the underbust and underwires to offer some support even without the cups. They’re available in a variety of levels of cup coverage depending on how much skin you want to show off. This bra style can also be called a cupless, open-cup, half-, or even quarter-cup bra. Firm breast tissue is needed to pull off the most advantageous appearance. They do not come with cup sizes, but not recommended for women larger than a D cup size.

If you need no-show support with clean lines that will give you a flawless silhouette under the skimpier and more revealing styles of tops you may reserve for summer or special occasions, try a backless bra style. This bra style gives incredible support and adds incredible versatility to your wardrobe. Low backless bras are a great option for when you want to keep your bra band in the back out of sight.
About the shelf bra
The backless bras available at HerRoom are all made to give you discreet modesty under revealing dresses and shirts. If your outfit doesn’t have a plunging neckline, you can try a sticky or sticky push-up bra style. These looks give you the support and lift you want with none of the concern about any of your bra peeking out from under your dress or blouse. For a real no-bra appearance, you can also try an adhesive bra. These work under all tricky styles, including low-cut tops with deep plunging necklines and any backless, open-back and low-back trends.
Shelf bras are great for women with large and small cup sizes. If you have small breasts, you can find a shelf platform bra that will give you great lift and support, without having to worry about sagging as much as a large breasted woman would. You can also wear them in high impact situations and for long periods of time because you don’t need as much all-around support.Â
There are also many open cup shelf bra styles that work for women with larger breasts – you just have to know what to look for! Larger-breasted women should look for a shelf bra with more well-constructed cups and a more supportive band. With quarter cup shelf bras, underwires can be your best friend! Some shelf bras are designed with structured cups inside, which can give you the boost you need to feel confident throughout the day.Â
